Catch up

So for those of you who might care or even at one point read this blog, Silas and I no longer live in West, Yellowstone. My attempted to update and to post rather regularly was basically a fail. Out of the 3 months we lived in West Yellowstone this past summer I believe I have only posted a total of two times. And now almost a year later, it is time to play catch up.

We currently are living in Declo, Id which if you are familiar with the area is roughly 40 miles east of Twin Falls, Id. It's a small little town of about 302 people of which we know a total of 9 or so. It might seem kind of strange that we would decide to move from the decent size city of Twin, Falls to a dinky farm town of Declo. But before I get a head of myself let me start at the beginning.

While we were still in West Yellowstone a job opportunity had surfaced for Silas. It was working with a local artist in Idaho as an apprentice. The details of this job at the time were still being worked out. So we prayed and waited to see if this is where God desired for us to be. Now at the time I did not want to move again. We just moved to West Yellowstone for the summer and were expecting to return to Twin Falls in the fall. Accepting this job would require for us to move yet again. Over the course of the next few days God was changing my heart and leading to believe that this was were he wanted for us to go.

The only trick was finding a house to live in. We were soon directed to a cute little farm house in Rupert, Id. that was just perfect for us. We fell in love with it. We ended up living here for a total of 6 months until it sold. Those six months for us proven to be an adventure and a blessing. We were able to have 6 chickens (until the neighbor dog attacked and then we only had 3). My hubby on election day ( no importance of the day) got me a cute little chocolate lab puppy. So at this point we had 3 chickens, 2 dogs, and 2 goats. Call us crazy but we were determined to live the farm life. Well a small part of it.

We now currently live in Declo with our two dogs, 15 chickens( we decided this spring to raise chicks) and a stray cat that we took from the farm house. We are very much liking our small little house. We started a garden this year. Honestly we don't know what we are doing with the whole gardening thing but we thought we give it a try. We hope to have corn, beans, tomatoes, potatoes, cantaloupe  watermelon, peas, onions, chives, basil, strawberries, and blueberries. I probably missed a few but you get the point.

So Silas' job. God has blessed us with a great opportunity to expand his painting desires. Silas works with and for a painter in Declo, Id. He is a quite a famous painter in the United States with art in many states. Silas has been able to study under him and attend and work at many of his workshops. We were  able to travel to Arizona this January for a workshop. We had a blast and the weather was gorgeous. Just recently we traveled to Colorado to deliver some paintings to a Gallery for his boss. Also, another fun trip and we were able to see some family that lived there.

I was think that this process might have been easier though pictures and captions. Who knows?

This summer already is pack full of trips and adventures for us. I can't wait to share. Seeing that I can keep up my posts this time.

I hope you enjoy.

Bianca Thompson.
